I own an Essence STX, so it may not be exactly the same with regards to drivers, but here sound works fine using the analog output on the card.
That inhome streaming says there is nothing plugged in, so we don't need sound? Or is it possible that the Xonar DX has no jack detection? Because the onboard device has that. The only thing which is different is the channel mask, what does this value mean? "DecoderName" "DXVA: H.264 variable-length decoder, no film grain technology" "CaptureName" "Game async D3D11 NV12 + Intel QuickSync D3D9" > Capture method set to Game async D3D11 NV12 + Intel QuickSync D3D9 CDesktopCaptureRF: Couldn't load RapidFireServer.dll Initializing audio with 6 channels and 48000 samples/sec
Recording on device: Lautsprecher (Realtek High Definition Audio) But I also get no error in the steamlog, here's for example Sleeping Dogs, once with Xonar DXanalog, once with Xonar DX digital and once with onboard.
I also start/shutdown my host from my client over WOL, because my host is in the basement and my client is plugged on the TV in the livingroom, and I don't want to go downstairs everytime I want to play on TV to change the playback device. But my speakers are plugged in the analog outputs, because of 5.1 sound, and digital only provides 2ch-sound. And with this Xonar DX I only get sound when I'm changing the playback device in Windows from analog to digital. But normally I'm using the Xonar DX for gaming, because the sound is much better than the onboard. First, everything works fine from streaming from my Win8.1-host (i54670k, 8GB Ram, Geforce GTX670, Asus Xonar DX soundcard) to my client (Notebook i32120m, 8 GB Ram, Geforce 640m), when I use the Onboard-Soundcard on the host (Realtek ALC887).
